All campsites used are the best available and include electric hook-ups. Special electrical connectors will need to be rented on each Swiss campsite.

Saturday 28th August 2010: We leave Dover at about lunchtime on a P&O ferry with access to the Club Class lounge with free Champagne and coffee, and have a short drive to our first campsite at Tournai in Belgium. Everybody can get to know each other at an informal drinks reception this evening. |

Sunday 29th August 2010: We continue south into Germany this morning. Our destination is the charming little town of Dahn. The area is well known for its superb, red rock formations, some of which are quite spectacular! This evening everybody can get together at the campsite’s barbecue restaurant for a simple, but filling meal. If the weather is clement, we can all sit outside, but if not we will go inside the restaurant. |

Monday 30th August 2010: A day to relax after yesterday’s long drive, so you can explore the fascinating rock formations around the campsite or just do nothing |

Tuesday 31st August 2010: We drive into Switzerland today, a total distance of about 210 miles to our lakeside campsite in Lucerne. There are views of Mount Pilatus from the site, as well as other mountains. A nature walk is available around the lake and various shops and restaurants are close by. |

Wednesday 1st September 2010: We catch a bus from the campsite this morning to the cable car station. We then take a 30 minute ride to the top of Mount Pilatus. After admiring the views, we will have lunch in the mountain top restaurant before descending on the steepest cog railway in the world. We then catch a boat back to Lucerne where you can either explore at your leisure, or catch a bus back to the campsite with the tour director. |

Thursday 2nd September 2010: A completely free day to put your feet up. There are lots of other possible excursions for the more energetic. Our tour directors will give you details. |

Friday 3rd September 2010: We head south again for about 100 miles to another lakeside campsite on Lake Lugano. |

Saturday 4th September 2010: We will spend all day on a lake cruise, with various stops along the way and including a lunch in a lakeside restaurant.. |

Sunday 5th September 2010: A free day so you can just relax or do some more exploring. The tour directors can give you details of places of interest in the area. |

Monday 6th September 2010: We have a spectacular drive today, only about 100 miles, but going over the Simplon mountain pass. This will offer wonderful views from the parking place at the top. When we reach our valley campsite at Raron we will be surrounded by superb views of the mountains all around. Shops and restaurants are available in the village of Raron, which is an easy 15 minutes walk from the campsite. This evening we will have a get together over the local Valais wines and cheeses and the tour directors will explain about all of the fabulous possible excursions from the campsite. There are so many that we have not included any in the itinerary and the group can decide for themselves which excursions they want organised. These vary from a 2 day ride on the world famous Glacier Express to St. Moritz to a simple walk along the River Rhone. The possibilities are almost endless. |

Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday 7th, 8th & 9th September 2010: Nothing has been planned for these 3 days so there is enough time to go on excursions as well as doing the chores! |

Friday 10th September 2010: We have a short drive today to our next campsite at Martigny. This will give us enough time to visit some of the local vineyards to stock up on the delicious local wines. Our campsite is on the outskirts of the town, once again surrounded by mountains. We will have another wine & cheese get together so that the tour directors can explain about the many excursions available from this site. |

Saturday 11th September 2010: We have a spectacular excursion included today, which will involve a walk of about 15 minutes to the railway station in Martigny to board the Mont Blanc Express which will take us on a 90 minute ride crossing the Trient Gorge up to breathtaking heights towards Chamonix. We will see waterfalls, majestic crags and the wonderful glacier of Mont Blanc, before experiencing the same thing in reverse when we catch the train back to Martigny. |

Sunday & Monday 12th & 13th September 2010: Completely free days so you can go on any of the excursions organised by the tour directors – or simply relax. |

Tuesday 14th September 2010: Another short drive of about 125 miles to arrive at our final Swiss campsite at Lauterbrunnen. This campsite is at the foot of the Jungfrau. |

Wednesday 15th September 2010: Today we have another tour highlight as we take the train to the highest railway station in Europe. It is the Jungfraujoch, which is on top of the Jungfrau mountain (11,300 feet). On the way up, we will stop at the stations at the Eiger north face, the Eiger glacier and the Sea of Ice where huge observation windows offer spectacular views of the valleys below. We will have enough time to spend a few hours admiring this UNESCO World Heritage Site before maybe taking lunch and then returning to home. If you want to maximise your enjoyment on this excursion you should ensure you have warm clothing and shoes suitable for snow – plus your camera! |

Saturday 18th September 2010: The tour ends this morning and you can either head back to Calais with the tour directors, or maybe you will choose to stay on and take advantage of your 60 day ferry ticket. |
