Sunday 2nd May 2010: We board the ferry at Dover this afternoon and enjoy a leisurely crossing to Calais. We then drive into Belgium to stay overnight at a small campsite in Tournai. This evening everybody will have the opportunity to get to know each other at an informal drinks reception. |
| 2 |
Monday 3rd May 2010: After a drive of about 260 miles we will arrive at our first German campsite in the lovely town of Rüdesheim. Our campsite is right alongside the river and only a short walk from the town itself. Rüdesheim is full of interesting places to visit, including a fabulous musical instrument museum and the Asbach distillery. You can also take a “Rhine Cruise” from within a few hundred yards of the campsite. |

Tuesday 4th May 2010: A free day today. But this evening we can organise an optional dinner in the world famous Drosselgasse, which is a narrow street full of restaurants – all competing with different types of live music. A lively evening is guaranteed. |

Wednesday 5th May 2010: Today we drive about 160 miles to the beautiful old town of Rothenburg-ob-der-Tauber. The village is one of the most popular places to visit for Germans, and it has won many awards and accolades. |
| 5 |
Thursday 6th May 2010: A free day to relax and maybe stroll into Rothenburg to explore the narrow streets and cheerful cafes. |
| 6 |
Friday 7th May 2010: We drive today to the mountain campsite at Berchtesgaden. The views from the campsite are spectacular and you may decide to simply sit and enjoy them. Alternatively, the campsite has a pleasant bar and restaurant. |

Saturday 8th May 2010: You can see the Eagles Nest from the campsite, but today we will have the opportunity to visit it. This incredible mansion was a gift to Adolf Hitler from Martin Bormann and can only be reached by a special bus, followed by an elevator ride through the centre of the mountain. Once inside the "Eagles Nest” the views are simply magnificent. |
| 8 |
Sunday 9th May 2010: A completely free day to do whatever you want, maybe even catch up on the chores. |
| 9 |
Monday 10th May 2010: A short drive of about 100 miles will bring us tour next campsite at Augsburg. The site has its own restaurant and there is a supermarket across the road. |

Wednesday 12th May 2010: Another free day at this pleasant campsite. If enough people want to make the trip, the tour director will organize a bus to the Dachau concentration camp, which has been maintained by the German government as a warning of what can happen if a country is governed by a dictatorship. We have not included Dachau in the full itinerary, as some people will find it distressing. It is only about 35 miles from our campsite. |
| 12 |
Thursday 13th May 2010: We head for home and stop at pleasant campsite in the village of Dahn. The site is surrounded by wonderful rock formations. It has its own simple restaurant and we will organize a farewell dinner for those people who are interested. |

Franglais closes to the public at 19.30 and at 19.45 we will stroll into the wine & drinks store for a meal-sized buffet with free wine tasting. Beer will also be available to drink at French prices. During the evening you can stroll around the shop and buy whatever you want from the huge selection at low, French prices. All major credit cards are accepted. Your purchases can be stored overnight for collection in the morning. No facilities are available, so you will need to use your motorhome’s toilet and shower etc. |

Saturday 15th May 2010: The port is about 10 minutes drive away so there will be enough time to visit the hypermarkets for your food shopping before catching our lunchtime ferry back to Dover. Alternatively, you could stay on and take advantage of your 60-day return ticket. |
