Despite the changes that are taking
place within GB Privilege, we have maintained our basic, original
idea that one of the joys of owning a motorhome is the ability
to simply 'get up and go'. To drift at your
own pace to areas you have not visited before. Often, however,
it is easy to miss at least one place of interest because
you simply didn't know it was there.
There are other occasions when we
miss having some company - the friendly camaraderie that exists
between motorhomers, the 'quick drinks' that seem to
last all evening and the shared barbecues that can be the
start of lifelong friendships.
When we formed GB Privilege we decided,
therefore, that although our tours would be well organised,
we would allow lots of time for each individual to 'be
themselves'. You have the option of travelling alone if
you wish, or with a particular friend, but our tour director
is always available if you would rather travel with a group
on any particular day. We try to include some local attractions
in each itinerary and on free days our tour director can usually
tell you of some other interesting places to visit.
Most
of our existing customers comment on the quality of the food
on our tours. Many of our meals are in the 'deluxe'
category and should not be confused with standard 'Steak
House' fare. When we talk of 'a dinner' we usually
mean 4 courses, preceded by an aperitif and including good
quality wine (not just one glass!). Whenever possible we include
local specialities. Occasionally we even go beyond that level
to fabulous banquets in exquisite settings.
These functions are normally the preserve
of diplomats, captains of industry and even royalty. Most
ladies enjoy the opportunity to put on their make-up and a
nice dress for a very special evening out. This level of top
quality function enables them to do that, while also clearly
defining our tours as being for those who enjoy the motorhome
lifestyle - but with a touch of luxury.
Although
many of our tours include such magnificent events, we do not
lose sight of the basic necessities of motorhome life. We
use the best campsites which are available in each area we
visit, we include electric hook-ups whenever possible, we
provide detailed route instructions (laminated, to ensure
they survive the whole tour), we tell everybody what they
will need in the way of electrical adaptors and we even include
a travelling, qualified, service engineer on some tours.
On top of all this, our tour director
is always available to ensure the smooth running of the tour
and to lead you to your next location, if you wish. Many people
go on several of our tours each year and we will continue
to reward them by offering a 5% discount on all tours after
the first that they book. The discount will always be applied
to the most expensive of the tours, but it cannot be applied
retrospectively. So if a tour has been completed we cannot
offer a discount against it.
We like to think we offer the best
of both worlds; organised tours with some fabulous events,
but including a large element of freedom to do as you please.
One of our customers coined the phrase
'Organised not Regimented'
when referring to our tours - we think this sums them up very
well.
